Manchester United vs Chelsea at McDonald Prima Saujana Kajang

Ad populum appeal to common belief:
A group of teenagers at McDonald. It was a crowded night, full of manchester united supporters. I overheard a conversation between a group and a teenage boy.

In malay "Kita orang ni MU fan, kalau ko nak lepak sama meja ngan kitaorang, ko duk diam diam je layan MU okay?
English version "We are all Manchester United Fans, if you want to be in the same table as us. You better be quiet and just watch Manchester United play ok?"

In this situation, between peer, to fit in a group one's need to think like the others do.
These are also known as The Bandwagon Fallacy, a fallacy in which a threat of rejection by one's peers (or peer pressure) is substituted for evidence in an argument.

WE as a human being does have mind of our own. Dont stop the thinking or blocking others people view, in sense to be the same. Differences makes the human kind unique.

Starbucks coffee

Go to fullsize image
As now i am at Starbucks Coffee having my chocolate ice caramel in venti size.

By looking at starbucks logo, i can see the words mention about starbucks & coffee.

Go to starbucks for a drink.
Starbucks offered coffee.

Therefore if i go starbucks i must drink coffee.

true premise and true conclusion.

The conclusion is not FALSE but Valid bad arguments because starbucks is not necessarily will serve only coffee.
Starbucks served also tea and mineral water.

Good arguments?

My wife told me last nite saying that " If you dont study for your exam you will failed"

To think about it , i feel that it is not a good arguments.
Because if i dont study i might still answered or i have my assignments to back me up.

Implicit conclusion and implicit premises, a good statement is like, If i dont do my assignments i will failed because assignments are main reason to fail in a paper in MMU. It consists of 50% marks and a must to submit assignments if not will not passed, therefore if I dont do my assignments i will failed.

Facts are important. However sometimes a person make a statement with premises but yet ask the person to resolve it by him or herself.
Luckily i did my assignments and i will say i have the chance of not failing.
=)

Assignment due tomorrow! Almost done

The assignment 1 which is the blog assignment is due tomorrow, but it is almost finished.

Up-Player statement.

I remember when my brother was small, in any story about his incident he will become a up-player.

There is one time when i come back from school. He told that he got hurt from an accident with the neighbor car.
When i checked , he looks okay doesnt have any cuts. However after i ask the neighbor, they told me that my brother accidently hit the non moving car. No harm done.

But the way you tell the story is very important. We will look it as serious if doesnt know the truth. It is true that he had an accident. it is true it is with the neighbor. but the severe things is not mention.

What can you tell from this picture of advertisement ?

Masked rider black use motor.
SO if we use honda motor we be like him.
 (True premise, false conclusion)
* we must gather the truth before we think*
advertisement put words in our head silently.

Ad populum appeal to force

The scare tactic.

I always see people use this tactic either to a person no matter how old or young the person is.

For example, there is one weekend when i went to Mid Valley Shopping Mall.
A mother and a young boy probally the age of 3 or 4 years old.
There were at the kids department. The toddler began to run up and down all around the places. When suddenly the Mother grab him and tell that "If you dont stay still, I will leave you and ask the security officer to take you away(pointing at the security guard)"

this is a way of people to do scare tactic to get what they want.
in this case to get the boy to stay calm, she use scare tactic in order to do so.
The boy scared that the mother leave and the security officer take him, so that he agrees to stay calm.

Sunday 8 May 2011

The word “Ad Hominem" is from Latin means "against the man" or "against the person."

A friend told me about the story of his family and himself.
He is consider as the blacksheep of the family. A sibling of his
is having problem, and he try to help by giving advices. The sister
give a remark that really shocked him, by saying "You cant even take
care of yourself yet you want to advice me!".

As a critical thinker, you must not let emotion controls you and you must evaluate
the contain of argument. He may not be a good person but he is your brother and
wanted to help. The sister should just think for a while if the advice is good and not harmful, she just think either to follow or not. Do not shut off the mind and find the
mistake of others.

Validity of an argument

Yesterday i went to Giant Hypermarket in Kajang, I asked for the "Original Flavor"  Enfagrow which seems to have finished. The salesperson suggested that i buy the "Vanilla flavor" because I never tried it before.
Eventhough it is on discount , the price tag on the 1.7kg is RM86.89.
For me it is not a good argument because if my daughter dislike the flavor i be wasting money buying for it.
Even if the flavor is out of stock, he should suggested that for me to wait or to take my number when there is stock. But instead , suggested to buy the vanila flavor because i never try it yet.

1st question "Why buy the things that you are not sure?"
2nd question "Why have other flavors that doesnt sell much as the original"

Arguments is good because we will think better and know what we need.

Vague statement

A day ago my 2 year old daughter was saying "Nice" she was referring to the food that she is holding.
- this is an example of vague statement more to a question or generalizing the situation.

Before that I went to mamak and ask about the menu. The waiter give a statement saying that, "Nasi lemak ni sedap" pointing at the nasi lemak.
My point of view of that time how is his taste bud and my taste bud is the same. I dont like hot and spicy meal. It is all about differences not all people are the same

appeal to spite

On the road, it was very jammed. A car overtake from the emergency lane. Another car follows and I started trying to overtake from the left lane. And then my wife stopped me saying, "Why are you trying to cut the line". I answered because "They all are doing it!". My wife told me that what is wrong will always be wrong. Two wrongs make a right will never be right.

Appeal to fear

Today, i said "Let's go elsewhere other than KLCC shopping complex". My wife asked, "Why is it so?". I explained "You are pregnant and very tired due to pregnancy. So better avoid those area that might have traffic congestion and crowded with people. It will make you tired and we have a toddler to take care also."

PM: Govt to launch affordable housing programme in Klang Valley

PETALING JAYA: The Government will launch a new scheme to ensure young adults in the Klang Valley have access to quality and affordable housing, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said.
The initiative, which will complement the My First Home programme launched in March, is to counter soaring property prices in the Klang Valley that have made it difficult for the younger generation to own homes.
Speaking on Hot FM Friday morning, Najib said he was aware, from comments on his Facebook site and in the media, that it was increasingly hard to find homes costing below RM220,000 in the Klang Valley.
He said the new initiative would be in the form of a partnership between the Government and private companies.
"If possible, no profit will be taken from this project. Companies can take it as a part of their corporate social responsibility," Najib added.
He said the programme would be launched in June or July, once suitable sites had been identified.
The My First Home programme, proposed in Budget 2011, targets homes within the RM100,000 and RM220,000 price range nationwide.
Under the scheme, young workers earning below RM3,000 monthly can procure 100% financing with a 30-year repayment period from selected financial institutions, to buy such homes.

My view ,
I look this as a good chance for younger generation such as me to own a home.
But the part that i concern the most is the financial department, the burden of loans.
Why do the price of housing is not control in the first place. People make 100% profits just from properties.
Should set standard of the price, limit the loan for individuals and finally control the market.
IF the goverment really wants to help, decrease the value and control the market , limit the ownership of houses.
Thank. you.I rest my case

RON 97 to cost 20 sen more from today

RON 97 to cost 20 sen more from today

PETALING JAYA: The price of premium petrol RON 97 will be increased by 20 sen to RM2.90 per litre today.
Malaysian Petrol Dealers Association president Datuk Hashim Othman, who confirmed this, said the price hike would be effective at midnight yesterday.
“The price of RON 97 currently fluctuates as the Government has lifted the subsidy for this petrol,” he said.
He added that the recent occurrences of global natural disasters and the political instability in the Middle East had caused an increase in crude oil prices.
Hashim said crude oil prices dipped slightly after the United States announced the death of terrorist Osama bin Laden.
“The price of RON 97 might go down in the future, but that depends on the political situation in the Middle East,” he said.
“Natural disasters will also affect the price.”
Hashim, however, added that the price of RON 95, which is subsidised, would stay at RM1.90 per litre.
Last month, Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai told Parliament that the Government had spent RM23.1bil on oil subsidies in 2010 compared with RM33.2bil in 2008.
He added that the Government had only allowed an increase of RON 97 petrol prices and left RON 95 unchanged to ensure that the people were not economically burdened.

Price of fuel went up.
The recent occurrences of global natural disasters and the political instability in the Middle East had caused an increase in crude oil prices.

Crude oil prices dipped slightly after the United States announced the death of terrorist Osama bin Laden.

For my opinion , i use NGV, because it is cheaper and eco friendly.
I rest my case no offense on the price but for those who doesnt use NGV or hybrid car. They must be really sad or mad or remain calm.

Charity flight - Sir Richard Branson

I will be taking my place as a Flight Attendant on a charity flight to Kuala Lumpur, and you could come along for the ride.

I am fulfilling my side of a bet with Tony Fernandes over our Formula 1 teams Lotus and Marussia Virgin Racing.

It should be a lot of fun and the important thing is – it's all for charity! All proceeds are being donated to Virgin Unite, the non-profit foundation of the Virgin Group.

The date is to be confirmed, and will be my first (and almost certainly last!) time as a Flight Attendant.

=========================================================
Firstly, this is the first time in aviation business that a CEO from another airlines went to serve as a steward/stewardess for the other airlines. But Sir Richard Branson is not a normal commoner, he has shares in Air Asia as well. To look at the situation, he is a very sporting person. Doing what he do best, he provides the natural mature in humour and calms about it. Bravo to Sir Richard Branson , a man that keeps his promises and stay cool about it. A man that i adore i must say!

Complaints from one person from one perspective.

Barcelona consider Mourinho complaint

April 28, 2011
By ESPNsoccernet staff
Barcelona are considering reporting Jose Mourinho to UEFA over the Real Madrid coach's incredible verbal tirade following Wednesday night's Champions League semi-final at the Bernabeu.

• Real Madrid 0-2 Barcelona

• Pep Guardiola avoids war of words
• Champions League Gallery Photo Gallery
Mourinho was sent to the stands and Real defender Pepe was handed a straight red card during a fiery first leg, which Barcelona won 2-0 thanks to two late Lionel Messi goals.
Speaking after the match, Mourinho clearly disagreed with the decisions but he also decided to vent his thoughts on what he believes is a systematic favouring of Barcelona by UEFA. He said his rivals were the beneficiaries of constantly biased refereeing, naming a list of individual officials and citing specific examples down the years while claiming Barcelona's recent Champions League successes are tainted by "scandals".
Mourinho said he felt "disgusted" to be a part of football and "if I tell UEFA what I really think, my career would end now". He said Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola should feel "ashamed" and that "one day I would like Josep Guardiola to win this competition properly", refering to Barcelona's triumph in 2009 after the controversial semi-final against Chelsea.
Barcelona issued a statement on their website in response late on Wednesday night, quoting several of Mourinho's claims.
The statement read: "Barcelona's legal department will study the declarations made by Jose Mourinho to determine whether to refer them to UEFA. In the post match press conference, Jose Mourinho severely criticised the referee (Wolfgang) Stark and insinuated that UEFA treated Barcelona favourably.
"The Real Madrid coach said: 'Josep Guardiola is a fantastic football coach, but he has won one Champions League which would embarrass me after the scandal at Stamford Bridge and this year, if he wins it again, it will be after the scandal at the Bernabeu'.
"He further accused Barca, claiming: 'I don't know if it's the publicity of UNICEF (on shirts), I don't know if it's the friendship of (Spanish football federation president Angel Maria) Villar at UEFA, where he is vice-president, I don't know if it's because they are very nice, but they have got this power. The rest of us have no chance'.''
And on Thursday, the Catalans confirmed a board meeting will be held to decide on the next course of action.
A statement on Barca's official website read: "There will be an 'extraordinary' meeting of the board at 1700 [local time on Thursday] to discuss the action to be taken after the events of the Bernabeu. Later there will be a press conference at 1900.
"At the press conference after the game, Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho harshly criticised referee Wolfgang Stark and suggested Barcelona receive favourable treatment.
"The Legal Services of FC Barcelona are considering reporting the Real Madrid coach to the Disciplinary Commission of UEFA.''

=============
Mr Jose Mourinho is well knowned tactical football coach, the things he said had cause for his sent off during the match Real Madrid versus Barcelona. If he said this things it might come out from the heart, due to the situation that one his player was sent off. He should make an official complaints with proofs instead of just telling to the newspaper reporter.
We as a human being, we need to think before we say, words come easily without thinking , without knowing the consequences of saying so. Wise man said "Think before you speak". Mourinho left a rather bitter taste in everyone’s mouth when he left with the comments regarding UNICEF. UNICEF are just one of the main sponsor for Barcelona, they are not a football organization that controls the UEFA body.
Regards..

Identical twins , sharing the same interests. Been thinking of the same thing? Doing the same thing?
People might be the same but sometimes they not having the same interest, but in this case both of the twins are doing the same thing, joint the same charge for trafficking heroin. It may be because of money factor , because both are unemployed, having financial problems had lead them into crimes.

Wonderful moments

Courts

Bi-Anne gets news that’s music to her ears

For Low Bi-Anne, the child at the centre of an ongoing custody battle, good news comes in a row. She was wearing a broad smile Friday after the Court of Appeal granted her father “full-time access” to care for her. The 12-year-old who is still on cloud nine after having touched Justin Bieber’s hand before his concert on Thursday night, said she was “very happy” with this extra piece of good news.

I am happy that she got what she wanted. Bieber and Father both at once :P
Court should make the voice of the children to be heard. Who they want to spend the life with.
Good verdict ! Hopefully this will be the benchmark in the court resolution in the right of custody of the children.

Sir Richard Branson

The story of Richard Branson.
A situation happened to billionaire Richard Branson in 1980. While vacationing on Beef Island (part of Virgin islands), Richard Branson and his wife were stranded when the local Puerto Rican flight got cancelled. There were no other flights out that day. Instead of seeing it as a ‘problem’, Branson’s millionaire mindset got him to see it as a challenging opportunity. As a result, he took a very different set of actions.
Branson got on the phone to a few aircraft charter companies and managed to charter a private plane for $2,000. Knowing that there were many stranded passengers who needed to catch a flight out badly, he borrowed a blackboard and wrote ‘Virgin Airways $39 Single Flight to Puerto Rico’. Within an hour of walking through the airport terminal, with the blackboard in his hand, he had sold every single seat!
After successfully flying everyone back and making a cool profit, he mulled over what one happy passenger had casually said, ‘Virgin Airways isn’t too bad-smarten up the service a little and you could be in business.’ Up till that moment, Branson, the builder of Virgin Records and a Hot Air Baloon adventurer, hadn’t given any thought to getting into the airline industry! But Branson, ever the bold adventurer, lost little time in launching Virgin Airways, taking on the giant British Airways and the rest is aviation history. Today, Virgin Airways is a global budget airline and one of the most profitable in the world.
The amazing thing about Branson was that he did not use any of his money to solve his ‘problem’. He used his millionaire mindset and thinking to turn a problem into an opportunity, which not only solved his problem, but made him even more money. (taken under article from http://sanmiakindipe.com/blog/?p=57 )

Critical thinking of a person change the perspective of the situation. With a mind of business yet having problems ,Richard Branson overturn the situation to make profits out of the grief situation. For us mortals , we be complaining all the way instead of thinking of a solution. After reading the story and seeing the resolution take from the mind of Richard Branson. He look for the problem and resolve the problem and gain some $$$ from the problem occurs.

With so many screaming fans in Malaysia, it's hard to see why Justin Bieber still sings about needing “somebody to love”. The 17-year-old pop sensation performed in front of a sell-out 17,000-crowd at Stadium Merdeka Thursday night, and to say he was given a warm reception would be an understatement

Wondering how many girls are crying the name of this boy? One boy versus 17,000 girls. This is getting madly deepy insanely weird for Asian culture. We can look it as a good side of life , better the girls be in the concert other than to be discreetly with their boyfriends. Lets hope for the best !
